Discover the Benefits of Sober Living at Kennebec House
Consistent Peer Support
When a person becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol, a lot of other obligations are tossed out the window. This might include eating healthy, exercising regularly, keeping a clean home, and maintaining good personal hygiene. One of the benefits of Kennebec House is the structure it puts back into each resident’s life. Our homes can help you to regain life skills and personal responsibility. This may be tasks as simple as doing laundry and keeping a clean living space to more difficult obligations such as finding employment.
Restored Life Skills
At Kennebec House, you are surrounded by men in different stages of recovery. They will offer many levels of support and hold you accountable on a daily basis. Our residents come from a variety of backgrounds and span many generations. This helps to bring unique perspectives to guide you on your recovery journey, as well as a sympathetic ear when you just want to talk.
24/7 House Manager
Our house managers have built trust during their time with us and are available 24/7. Whether you need guidance on resources, finding employment, or conflicts with other members of the house, to name a few, our house managers can assist you in many areas of daily living in a fair, objective capacity. One of our owners, Mike, is also always available by phone and attends house meetings on a regular basis.
Renewed Independence
One of the greatest benefits of sober living is the newfound (or re-found) independence that it brings. With your sobriety underway, and a positive outlook on the recovery process, you will begin to take life back into your own hands. You will have the independence to go out and find a job on your own, and take the steps needed to be successful in any job you pursue. You will have the independence to make new friends and establish meaningful friendships that support your recovery. Whether you are coming to us as a recent inmate or early in recovery, the freedom you can have without the chains of substance or alcohol use means you can make your own path. We at Kennebec House are here to help you find what that means for you!
Consistent Peer Support
Whether you are at our Bridge Street home or Franklin Street, you will have a diverse group of housemates to help you in your day to day recovery journey.
Regained Life Skills
We will guide you to local resources and support healthy efforts to continue improving your life skills. Being free of mind altering substances is just the beginning and we want to support you in making your quality of life what you deserve it to be, with the structure and guidance to help you stay focused on your goals.
24/7 House Manager
While we encourage you to interact and support all housemates, our house managers can guide you and support you as a member of our home that has proven to be reliable and is knowledgeable in house rules, can resolve conflicts, and has the experience to offer insights into the challenges of early recovery.
Renewed Independence
Although we don't have any restrictions on your length of time in our home, we know that you are in recovery to rebuild your life without relying on mind altering substances. We strive to help you regain, or in some cases gain, the skills to help you succeed in your life outside of our homes.
